Benefits of the MCHS Guards
The Madison Color guard is a fun group to be a part of. Members get to travel all over the United States, learn
how to be great performers, learn how to work hard at an activity and make friends, be a part of an award winning tradition,
compete, and have lots of fun.
Groups Available for you:
Madison High School Winter Guard:
This group is for students who want to put in a lot of time and attain the highest of skill and performance. Anyone
in grades 8-12 may join this group. The High School Winter Guard is always in the running for State Finals and has even
made finals in the WGI International Regional competitions. This is a very hard working and serious group.
Madison AAA Winter Guard:
This group is for students in grades 6-12 who want to begin the process of winter guard, or students whom don't have
as much time to devote to rehearsal as the top winter guard. This guard practices much less, but is a great place for
beginning guard members too.
Fall Marching Band Color Guard:
The fall marching band color guard is the group which performs with the High School Marching Band. This group performs
outside at marching competitions as well as football games and parades. The fall guard is open to students in grades
8-12, with special rehearsals and performances with students in grades 6-8 also.

Who can be in the MCHS Color Guard?
Students in grades 6-12 attending Madison Jr. High or Madison Senior High are eligible for the different performing and
competing units of the Madison Color Guards.
